Hello Everyone

I have been living in Germany now for 7 years. I'm from California. I met my wife while she was in the US on business trips. I moved here and we are married.

Do I like it in Germany? yes.
Do I miss home? yes.

I miss Taco Bell bean burritos, KFC (like it is at home). I miss the 4th of July. I miss baseball and football. I miss the beach. I miss snow-free winters. Most of all I miss being able to have a conversation about subjects unique to Americans. I miss being able to tell a joke and getting laughter. I miss being able to properly express myself without sounding like a caveman.

Having said that, there is much to love about Germany. The history and the old world architecture is beautiful. There are so many places I haven't been yet and we hope to get back to some traveling soon as soon as this pandemic crap is done. There is fantastic food to be found, though sometimes hard to find. The schnapps, the wines, the whiskeys, the cured meats and artisan cheeses are delicious.

So, here I am. If there is anyone near Karlsruhe or passing through, hit me up. I would be happy to meet for a beer or two.
